The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 4.0 Bend 45° PE100 SDR11 is an engineered, factory pre-insulated large-diameter directional fitting designed for high-efficiency secondary cooling circuits, industrial refrigeration, chilled water networks, and process piping systems. Built on an advanced 3-in-1 design, the fitting integrates an inner core pipe made of PE100 polyethylene, a high-efficiency closed-cell GF HE foam insulation layer, and a robust black outer jacket that provides superior impact resistance and UV protection for indoor and outdoor installations. The closed-cell, halogen-free foam core exhibits a bulk density of at least 70 kg/m3 and an optimized thermal conductivity rating of lambda 0.026 W/mK or lower at 20 degrees Celsius, establishing an impermeable vapor barrier that prevents moisture penetration, external pipe frosting, and corrosion beneath the insulation. Designed as a Type B spigot fitting covering the large metric outside diameter range from d250 mm to d450 mm (DN250 to DN450), it is rated for nominal operating pressures up to 16 bar. Connecting this 45-degree bend into the pipeline is accomplished using separate electrofusion couplers, requiring standard rotational mechanical peeling of the uninsulated pipe ends prior to welding to ensure an optimal homogenous joint. The smooth bore of the PE100 core provides outstanding hydraulic characteristics, minimizing pressure loss and preventing encrustation over an operational lifetime of at least 25 years. Capable of continuous service with water, brine, and glycol solutions across medium temperatures from -50 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius, this pre-insulated solution reduces site installation time by eliminating subsequent post-insulation steps while safeguarding thermal efficiency.
