The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 90 degrees elbow is a factory pre-insulated electrofusion fitting designed for chilled-water circuits, industrial refrigeration, and HVAC process cooling applications. Engineered as an integrated 3-in-1 piping component, the fitting features a core medium pipe manufactured from PE100 polyethylene with an SDR11 wall ratio, enclosed within high-efficiency GF HE closed-cell polyurethane foam insulation and a robust, impact-resistant black outer protective jacket. Operating at a nominal pressure rating of 16 bar across a medium temperature spectrum extending from 0 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius, this component reliably prevents external condensation and surface degradation. Jointing is executed directly onto system pipes via integrated electrofusion resistance wires, featuring practical terminal pin connectors and built-in welding indicators that supply clear visual and haptic verification of joint integrity after completion. Each socket end incorporates a specialized elastomer sealing lip that automatically creates a 100 percent moisture-proof and water vapour-tight seal against the pipe casing without requiring supplementary elastomeric sleeves, silicone sealing, or adhesive primers. By combining low thermal conductivity insulation with fully sealed polymer layers, the fitting reduces thermal energy losses by up to 30 percent compared to post-insulated metallic configurations while eliminating the operational risks of condensation, internal encrustation, and galvanic corrosion throughout a maintenance-free service life.
