The Georg Fischer Fuseal LD 45 degrees street bend S x SPG is an engineered polypropylene fitting designed for high-capacity industrial, laboratory, and chemical drainage, waste, and vent (DWV) piping networks. Manufactured for the Fuseal Corrosive Waste Piping System in large-diameter sizes from 8 to 12 inches, the component enables directional routing changes of 45 degrees while minimizing space requirements through its street layout, integrating a fusion socket on one end and a spigot terminal on the opposing end. This configuration permits direct connection into adjacent fitting sockets without requiring intermediary pipe spools, conserving linear installation depth in compact chases, pipe racks, and underground trenching. Fabricated from premium flame-retardant (PPFR) and non-flame-retardant (PPNFR) polypropylene formulations, the fitting demonstrates comprehensive resistance to alkalis, alcohols, mineral acids, salt solutions, and aggressive solvents, remaining completely impervious to rust, pitting, electrolytic erosion, and scaling. Joining is executed using the Fuseal LD loose coil electrofusion process, where energized resistive wiring melts the interface to produce a homogeneous, leak-tight joint rated for pressurized and vacuum drainage applications up to 50 psi. Thermal tolerance accommodates continuous operating service at temperatures reaching 180 degrees Fahrenheit (82 degrees Celsius) alongside intermittent high-temperature effluent discharges up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius). The specialized compound incorporates heat stabilizers and UV-resistant pigmentation for prolonged durability in above-ground exposed runs or sub-grade utility lines across life sciences facilities, hospital laboratories, academic research centers, chemical processing plants, and food manufacturing environments.
