The Georg Fischer Fuseal Fast-Lock floor drain is engineered for high-performance chemical waste collection in corrosive laboratory, healthcare, educational, and industrial drainage installations. Molded from flame retardant polypropylene (PPFR), the floor drain body delivers outstanding chemical resistance against aggressive effluents, including dilute mineral acids, alkalis, alcohols, solvents, and aqueous salt solutions, preventing pitting, scaling, rusting, and electrolytic corrosion. Designed for demanding special waste DWV systems, the assembly safely handles continuous fluid temperatures up to 180 degrees F (82 degrees C) and intermittent thermal shock discharges up to 212 degrees F (100 degrees C). The unit incorporates an 8.50-inch diameter grate area surrounded by a 12.00-inch outer flange pattern with a 1.63-inch rim offset, ensuring dependable liquid collection and easy integration into finished floor surfaces. Joining is accomplished through the Georg Fischer Fast-Lock mechanical joint collar system, which requires no curing adhesives, specialized solvents, or grooving tools. Installation utilizes standard 8 mm or 10 mm socket drivers, allowing rapid, secure assembly in constrained slab and floor cavities without hazardous fumes. The mechanical joint is rated for operating pressures up to 35 psi, ensuring leak-tight reliability in gravity flow, pumped effluent lines, and vacuum drainage networks subject to intermittent surges. Furthermore, the modular design provides complete compatibility and collar interchangeability with Fuseal electrofusion components, enabling seamless transitions between mechanical and welded piping segments across 2-inch, 3-inch, and 4-inch collection lines.
