Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 4.0 ball valve type 179 provides automated on-off and modulating flow isolation for secondary cooling circuits, industrial refrigeration networks, and process chillers. Designed as an integral pre-insulated valve assembly, the unit features an ABS valve body outfitted with metric PE100 SDR11 spigot ends, chemically resilient PTFE ball seating, and factory-supplied insulation half shells that integrate into vapor-tight COOL-FIT 4.0 piping installations. Actuation is driven by a high-efficiency electric actuator operating on an operating voltage of 100-230V at 50-60 Hz, engineered with a factory set control range of 90 degrees and an internal heating element to effectively prevent condensation buildup within the drive housing during low-temperature refrigeration duty. Precise positioning and process automation are ensured through continuous position feedback signaling open, close, and middle statuses, while integrated stainless steel threaded inserts in the valve base provide secure, vibration-resistant mounting without compromising the mechanical integrity of the polymer casing. Operating at a nominal system pressure rating of 10 bar across dimensions d32 to d90 mm, the assembly delivers reliable shut-off for chilled water, brine, and glycol mixtures operating at temperatures spanning from minus 50 degrees Celsius up to plus 60 degrees Celsius. The pre-molded insulation enclosure preserves continuous thermal boundaries to prevent exterior sweating and energy loss, eliminating the thermal bridging typically associated with uninsulated metal valve bodies. Jointing into the piping distribution network is executed using separate electrofusion type A fittings directly on the PE100 spigot ends, ensuring leak-tight, monolithic piping transitions that sustain zero-maintenance performance in commercial refrigeration, beverage production, food cold-storage facilities, and demanding rooftop chiller installations.
