The Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) Type 127 electric ball valve is an automated industrial solution designed for exact isolation and flow control in cooling, water treatment and process piping systems. Supplied across Europe by BigWeld as an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, this assembly pairs a high-integrity ABS valve core with a compact EA15 electric actuator running on 100 to 230 V supplies. Rated for a nominal pressure of PN10 (10 bar) across outside diameters from d16 (DN10) to d63 (DN50), the unit delivers reliable motor-driven 90 degrees operation in demanding utility and industrial installations.

Built from high-grade acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), the valve body offers exceptional notch impact strength and resistance to sub-zero temperatures without becoming brittle. The fluid-contact components use low-friction PTFE ball seats and chemical-grade EPDM seals, maintaining tight shut-off and low rotational torque over long duty cycles.

The EA15 actuator is enclosed in a durable glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF) housing with IP68 ingress protection against dust and continuous water immersion. An integrated anti-condensation heating element protects the electronics from internal moisture build-up, while limit switches provide clear Open and Close electrical position feedback. A manual emergency override lets operators position the valve by hand during plant commissioning or power failure.

Installation is direct and secure through metric solvent cement sockets for standard solvent welding with Tangit ABS adhesive, producing homogeneous, leak-tight joints. Factory-fitted stainless steel threaded inserts (M6 and M8) in the valve base allow mounting straight onto support structures, preventing mechanical strain on the pipework. The actuator can also be completed with an optional fail-safe return unit that drives the valve to a predetermined safe position if power is interrupted. The ABS Type 127 suits chilled water circuits, air conditioning distribution, cooling towers and municipal or industrial water treatment plants.
