The Georg Fischer Type 179 ABS electric ball valve 24V is an automated PN10 flow control valve engineered for reliable operation in industrial cooling circuits, chilled water loops, water treatment plants, and marine systems. BigWeld, as an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, supplies this automated assembly to provide precise quarter-turn shut-off and regulating performance where thermoplastic piping prevents corrosion and limescale buildup. The valve assembly pairs a robust ABS valve body with an electric actuator powered by 24V AC/DC, providing an automated solution across metric pipe dimensions from d16 (DN10) up to d110 (DN100).

Actuation is delivered by Georg Fischer EA25, EA45, or EA120 electric actuators engineered to IP68 environmental protection standards. The actuator mechanism delivers a 90 degrees operating stroke and features an integrated heating element to eliminate internal condensation during temperature variations. For commissioning and maintenance safety, the actuator incorporates a manual emergency override and visual position indication with electric feedback for Open, Close, and Middle positions. Advanced digital automation can be integrated through optional positioner modules, monitoring boards, and communication interfaces such as Profibus DP and Modbus TCP.

Manufactured from impact-resistant gravel grey ABS (RAL 7001), the valve body features integrated stainless steel threaded inserts for rigid bracket mounting and structural stability under dynamic line vibrations. The fluid path incorporates low-friction PTFE ball seats and high-grade EPDM seals, ensuring low operating torque and bubble-tight isolation at operating pressures up to 10 bar. Pipe connection is made via metric ISO solvent cement sockets designed for jointing with Tangit ABS solvent cement and cleaner.
