The Georg Fischer e-DIASTAR Type 514 is an electrically actuated diaphragm valve in PVC-U (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride), built for automated flow regulation and linear shut-off in industrial piping systems. The true union body allows radial removal for maintenance or replacement without disturbing the adjacent pipe spools, and the valve is rated for a nominal pressure of 10 Bar (PN10) at 20 degrees Celsius. Typical duties include aggressive chemical dosing, industrial water treatment, electroplating lines and fluid distribution networks.

Actuation comes from a dedicated 24V AC/DC multiturn electric actuator matched to the travel of a thermoplastic diaphragm. Factory-set position feedback switches report open and closed status to the control system, while an internal heating element prevents condensation inside the housing across an ambient range of minus 25 degrees to 70 degrees Celsius. An integrated manual emergency override lets technicians move the valve safely during commissioning or a power outage, without special tools.

Threaded stainless steel inserts integrated into the body secure the valve to pipe brackets without transferring mechanical stress into the thermoplastic pipework. The PVC-U body offers proven chemical resistance to inorganic acids, alkalis and saline solutions at operating temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius, and the e-DIASTAR flow path avoids stagnant zones where deposits could build up.
