The Georg Fischer Type 167 is an electrically actuated three-way ball valve for automated diverting, mixing and distribution duties in industrial thermoplastic piping systems. The ball is configured as a horizontal T-port and the body is produced in unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), covering metric diameters from d16 mm to d63 mm with metric solvent cement sockets. The true union construction allows the valve to be mounted and removed radially during maintenance, without cutting into the solvent-cemented line.

The actuator runs on a supply voltage of 100 to 230 V at 50 to 60 Hz and is factory pre-set to a 90 degrees control range. In the baseline position, ports A-B-C stay open and switch to ports B-C open on electrical activation, following the horizontal flow scheme; alternative intermediate flow paths are set by adjusting the integrated limit switches. The enclosure carries an internal heating element to suppress condensation, position feedback switches for open, closed and middle, and stainless steel inserts for rigid mechanical fastening.

The valve body is rated for a nominal pressure of 10 bar (PN10) at 20 degrees Celsius and offers the high chemical resistance of PVC-U to inorganic acids, alkalis and saline solutions common in process utilities. Optional fail-safe return units, monitoring boards, electronic position controllers and Profibus DP communication cards extend the assembly into supervised automation loops, making it suitable for water treatment plants, chemical dosing skids and process distribution headers.
