Union elbow malleable iron

Material: Malleable iron

  Datasheet (PDF)

The Georg Fischer malleable cast iron union elbow flat seat 101 provides a robust, demountable 90-degree angular joint engineered for demanding industrial, commercial, and utility piping systems. Designed to facilitate rapid assembly and non-destructive dismantling in rigid pipeline layouts, the fitting features a three-piece mechanical configuration comprising an elbow union bush (100 ET), a union nut (374), and a flat-seat male union end (371). Both external pipe connections incorporate male taper threads (R) conforming to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1 to achieve dependable pressure-tight sealing on the thread flanks with suitable thread sealants. The internal coupling relies on parallel fastening threads (G) to EN ISO 228-1 machined onto the heavy union nut, drawing the planar sealing faces together uniformly against a flat gasket. The flat-seat configuration permits clean radial separation and reassembly of pipe sections or inline equipment without twisting adjacent pipe spools or imposing torsional strain on the network. Cast from decarburised annealed whiteheart malleable iron grade EN-GJMW-400-5 in compliance with EN 10242 Design Symbol A, the fitting body exhibits high mechanical strength, shock resistance, and lasting pressure containment. The hot-dip galvanised zinc coating delivers comprehensive internal and external corrosion protection, fulfilling strict hygiene requirements for drinking water installations according to DIN 50930-6. Engineered for dependable continuous operation, the union elbow maintains an operating pressure rating of 25 bar between -20 and 120 degrees Celsius, and up to 20 bar at 300 degrees Celsius, accommodating sizes from 1/2 inch to 1 inch with corresponding union nut threads from 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches.
