Georg Fischer malleable cast iron bend 54 provides a precise 15 degrees directional diversion for threaded piping systems carrying liquids, technical gases, and compressed air. Engineered with female-to-female threaded connections on both ends, this fitting features parallel internal jointing threads (Rp) compliant with EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, delivering reliable pressure-tight thread sealing when combined with suitable thread sealants. The fitting body is manufactured from decarburised annealed white malleable cast iron grade EN-GJMW-400-5 in accordance with Design Symbol A, providing high mechanical strength, structural ductility, and impact resistance without embrittlement. To ensure comprehensive corrosion protection, the component undergoes hot-dip galvanisation with high-purity zinc, establishing a durable, homogeneous protective alloy layer that prevents oxidation and satisfies stringent potable water hygiene requirements, remaining completely free of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The shallow 15 degrees angle ensures smooth fluid transit with significantly reduced localized turbulence and minimal head loss compared to abrupt piping turns, making it ideal for creating subtle pipeline slopes, bypasses, and geometric corrections in confined plant spaces or distribution shafts. Standardized z-dimensions defined across the 1/2 inch to 2 inch nominal diameter range (DN15 to DN50) support prefabrication and exact centre-to-centre planning using standard layout methods. Rated for long-term operational reliability, the bend accommodates working pressures of up to 25 bar across temperatures between minus 20 and 120 degrees Celsius, as well as 20 bar at temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for industrial supply lines, hydronic heating, cooling, gas distribution, and commercial building services.
