The Georg Fischer beaded malleable cast iron plug type 290 provides a dependable, high-integrity mechanical closure for terminating female-threaded ports and run ends across industrial, utility, and building service piping systems. Engineered in accordance with ISO/EN T9 geometry, the fitting features a precision-machined external taper jointing thread conforming to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1 (Design Symbol A), creating a robust, pressure-tight seal along the thread flanks when threaded into parallel Rp internal connections with an appropriate sealing medium. An integrated solid square drive head delivers positive tool engagement for standardized wrenches, enabling controlled tightening torque application and straightforward dismounting during routine maintenance or pipeline modifications. The distinct circumferential reinforcing bead along the rim enhances hoop strength and structural rigidity, preventing material deformation or cracking under high assembly stresses and operational pressure spikes. Fabricated from premium decarburized annealed whiteheart malleable cast iron EN-GJMW-400-5, the fitting features a hot-dip galvanized finish that generates a tenacious zinc-iron alloy barrier layer to deliver superior resistance against atmospheric corrosion, mechanical impact, and oxidation. Rated for continuous operation between -20 degrees Celsius and 120 degrees Celsius at a maximum working pressure of 25 bar, and up to 300 degrees Celsius at 20 bar, this threaded plug ensures enduring shut-off performance across compressed air lines, cooling circuits, industrial gas pipework, and secondary process installations.
