The Blucast universal threaded tapping saddle is engineered for making secure branch connections on polyethylene (PE-HD) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) pressure piping networks. Manufactured strictly from ductile cast iron grade EN-GJS-500-7, this robust fitting provides high mechanical strength and structural integrity under dynamic operational loads. BigWeld is an authorised Blucast dealer, supplying certified utility and industrial pipeline solutions designed for potable water distribution, civil infrastructure, wastewater conveyance, and agricultural irrigation installations operating at a nominal working pressure of up to PN16 (16 bar).

Corrosion protection is achieved through an automatic electrostatic powder epoxy coating applied inside and out with a minimum layer thickness of 250 µm in RAL 5015 blue. This high-adhesion coating isolates the ductile iron substrate from aggressive soil chemistry and corrosive fluids, preventing tuberculation and ensuring hygienic compliance for drinking water networks. The saddle utilizes a precision-moulded elastomeric EPDM sealing gasket profile that matches the exterior pipe curvature, achieving complete perimeter tightness without imposing excessive hoop stress or oval deformation on thermoplastic pipe walls. The connection is secured by high-tensile AISI 304 stainless steel assembly bolts and washers that resist galling and underground galvanic degradation.

Standard female BSP threaded branch outlets allow for direct mechanical connection of service line valves, threaded brass fittings, or secondary lateral lines. Designed for direct burial without requiring additional cathodic protection, the saddle maintains structural and sealing stability across temperatures from 0 degrees to 80 degrees Celsius. Available in pipe nominal outer diameters ranging from DE 50 mm to DE 315 mm with threaded outlets from 1 inch to 2 inches.
