The large diameter ductile iron flange adaptor is an engineered piping solution designed for connecting polyethylene (PE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes directly to flanged equipment, including industrial valves, pumps, and standard flanged fittings. Built to operate reliably under a continuous working pressure of up to 16 bar (PN16), this wide-tolerance fitting bridges the gap between smooth-ended thermoplastic pipelines and flanged networks. It provides pipeline engineers and utility contractors with a dependable, leak-tight transition for both new civil infrastructure projects and maintenance retrofits.
Manufactured with a robust ductile iron GGG-50 body, the adaptor offers high tensile strength and structural integrity under internal hydrostatic pressure surges and external soil loads. The assembly incorporates an engineered EPDM gasket that ensures continuous elastic sealing across the pipe circumference, compensating for minor surface irregularities. For long-term protection against external corrosion, the casting is protected by a high-grade epoxy coating in RAL 5015, shielding the metal substrate against corrosive groundwater and aggressive soil conditions.
The wide-tolerance compression mechanism accommodates pipe outer diameter variations across nominal diameters from DN400 to DN600 (external pipe diameters DE 400 mm to 630 mm). This design streamlines site installation by reducing alignment stress and eliminating specialized welding equipment on demanding job sites. The adaptor is suitable for underground buried trenches as well as above-ground utility installations in pumping stations, water treatment facilities, and distribution channels.
