The Blucast series VB wafer butterfly valve is an industrial flow isolation solution engineered for municipal potable water systems, neutral liquid transport and utility piping networks. The body is cast in ductile iron grade EN-GJS-500-7, giving high tensile strength and resistance to pressure surges up to the nominal rating of PN16 (16 bar). The range covers nominal diameters from DN50 up to DN400, and the compact wafer profile allows direct installation between standard flanges to EN 1092-2 (PN10 and PN16 drilling), reducing installed length and piping stress compared with traditional flanged valves.

A precision-machined ductile iron disc seals concentrically against a resilient EPDM seat liner. This geometry guarantees 100% bidirectional bubble-tight shut-off across the full pressure range, eliminating internal leakage. A stainless steel stem provides torsional stiffness and low operating torque, preventing deflection during actuation under continuous flow. The stem sealing assembly incorporates multiple elastomeric seals that isolate the internal media from atmospheric exposure, ensuring maintenance-free performance at temperatures up to 80 degrees C.

Corrosion protection is achieved with an electrostatically applied powder epoxy coating on internal and external surfaces, with a minimum thickness of 250 µm in RAL 5015 sky blue. The coating resists abrasive wear, cavitation and the action of aggressive soils. Certified under WRAS and ACS and manufactured to ISO quality procedures, the series VB meets European hygiene criteria for drinking water contact without imparting taste or chemical migration.
