The Blucast L=500 mm ductile iron repair clamp is a full-encirclement repair fitting for the permanent sealing of cracks, longitudinal splits, pinholes and corroded areas on large-diameter distribution mains. It is built for pipelines with outside diameters of D630 mm and D660 mm and is rated PN16, giving 16 bar working pressure on potable water, wastewater and industrial networks. The clamping heads are cast in high-strength ductile iron (EN-GJS grade) and work against a flexible AISI 304 stainless steel band, so the tensioning force is spread evenly over the full 500 mm contact length instead of being concentrated at a few points. Sealing is handled by a profiled EPDM elastomer gasket that follows pipe surface irregularities, minor ovality and thermal movement while holding a watertight joint across a working range of 0 degrees C to +80 degrees C.

Every ductile iron component carries a powder epoxy coating of min. 250 µm in RAL 5015 sky blue, the Blucast standard for buried service, protecting the casting against aggressive soils and electrochemical corrosion. The clamp suits rigid and flexible pipe materials alike — ductile iron, grey cast iron, carbon steel, HDPE (PE100/PE80) and PVC-U pressure pipe — and its multi-bolt AISI 304 tensioning system allows the repair to be completed in the trench without welding equipment, shortening shutdown and excavation time. The Blucast range is CE marked and covered by the manufacturer's seven-year quality warranty.
