iJoint PP Reducing Compression Coupling PN16
Data Sheet | Product Range | Instructional Video
The Georg Fischer iJoint reducing coupling is an engineered polypropylene (PP-B) mechanical compression fitting designed for straight dimensional transitions in pressurized fluid systems. Engineered for high-integrity potable water networks, utility service lines, industrial fluid handling, and agricultural irrigation, this fitting provides a secure reduction between differing nominal pipe diameters without requiring pre-assembly dismantling or pipe end chamfering.
Constructed from high-grade UV-stabilized polypropylene impact copolymer (PP-B), the fitting delivers robust mechanical endurance, chemical resistance, and protection against degradation from atmospheric exposure. The internal architecture features a factory-lubricated, food-safe EPDM lip gasket engineered to seal reliably even on scratched, ovalized, or undersized pipe surfaces. Axial restraint is maintained by a polyacetal (POM) grip ring with aggressive internal biting teeth that lock securely onto the pipe wall, offering superior pull-out resistance and stability against hydraulic water hammer.
Rated for a continuous maximum operating pressure of 16 bar (PN16) across an operating temperature spectrum of -10 degrees C to +45 degrees C, the iJoint reducing fitting is compatible with PE 80, PE 100, PEX, and PEX-a pipe series manufactured to EN 12201, DIN 8074, and ISO 4427. Transition to PVC-U or ABS is also achievable using compatible adaptation components. With extensive international approvals including DVGW, ACS, KIWA, SVGW, and IIP compliance (DM 174), the corrosion-free polymer construction ensures long-term operational reliability without rust or scale buildup.
- Body and Nut Material: UV-stabilized Polypropylene Copolymer (PP-B)
- Grip Ring Material: High-tensile Polyacetal (POM)
- Sealing Element: Factory-lubricated Potable Water Grade EPDM Lip Gasket
- Nominal Pressure Rating: PN16 (16 bar)
- Operating Temperature Range: -10 degrees C to +45 degrees C
- Applicable Pipe Compatibility: PE 80, PE 100, PEX, PEX-a (metric series)
- Key Certification Standards: DVGW GW 335-B3, KIWA, ACS, SVGW, ISO 17885
