Female compression adaptor iJoint PP PN16

The iJOINT female adaptor from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) is a polypropylene compression fitting that forms a mechanical transition between metric polyethylene pipe (PE 80, PE 100, PEX, PEX-a) and male-threaded components or metal network equipment. Body and thrust ring are moulded in UV-stabilised polypropylene impact copolymer (PP-B) with long-term ageing stability to ISO 9080, giving a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar (PN16) across a working range of -10 degrees to +45 degrees Celsius. Sizes run from d16 to d110 mm with parallel female threads from 1/2" to 4".

The parallel internal thread follows DIN EN 10226 (ISO 7-1) and is reinforced by an AISI 430 stainless steel ring that absorbs tightening torque and prevents splitting or stress deformation of the socket. On the compression side, the push-fit design accepts the pipe directly, without dismantling the nut and without chamfering the pipe end. The factory-lubricated food-safe EPDM lip gasket seals immediately and tolerates scratched, ovalised or slightly undersized pipe, while the polyacetal (POM) grip ring bites into the pipe wall for pull-out restraint under water hammer and axial loading.

Typical applications are potable water distribution and main extensions, house connections and service lines, pressure sewage, pressurised irrigation and greenhouses, mining and industrial fluid handling, and temporary bypass lines where quick disassembly matters. The fully thermoplastic construction removes any risk of galvanic corrosion, rust or incrustation in buried and surface installations. Drinking water approvals include DVGW (GW 335-B3, W270, KTW), ACS, KIWA, IIP and SVGW, with testing to ISO 17885, DIN 8076-3, ISO 3501 and ISO 3503.
