The Georg Fischer iJoint 90 degrees elbow with female threaded off-take is an engineered mechanical compression fitting designed for high-integrity transitions between polyethylene pressure piping and threaded valves, hydrants, or metallic components. Manufactured from UV-stabilised polypropylene impact copolymer (PP-B) according to ISO 9080, this fitting delivers outstanding mechanical strength, zero galvanic corrosion, and complete resistance to incrustation. It is rated for maximum operating pressures up to PN16 (16 bar) within an operating temperature range of -10 °C to +45 °C, making it suitable for municipal potable water distribution networks, house connections, industrial fluid handling, and agricultural irrigation infrastructure.

Engineered with advanced push-fit technology, the iJoint system permits direct pipe insertion into the fitting socket without loosening or disassembling the blue PP-B union nut. The internal factory-lubricated EPDM lip gasket guarantees reliable hydraulic sealing immediately upon pipe insertion, accommodating surface scratches, slight ovality, and outer diameter tolerances on PE 80, PE 100, and cross-linked PEX pipes. Mechanical pull-out resistance is secured by a precision polyacetal (POM) grip ring that bites into the pipe wall under tensile load and hydraulic pressure surges.

The parallel female threaded branch conforms to DIN EN 10226 (ISO 7-1) standards and is reinforced with an external AISI 430 stainless steel ring to prevent stress cracking, hoop expansion, and over-tightening damage during threaded assembly.
