PVC-KG single socket elbow SN4 (KGB) is an injection-moulded fitting engineered for directional changes in underground non-pressure gravity sewer networks and storm water drainage systems outside the building footprint. Manufactured from durable unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in orange RAL 8023, the elbow provides a nominal ring stiffness of SN4 (4 kN/m²), making it structurally suited for underground installations at depths from 0.8 to 6 metres beneath surfaces subjected to medium road traffic loading, while remaining fully compatible with both SN4 and SN2 gravity pipeline systems. The fitting incorporates a factory-installed elastomeric EPDM synthetic rubber lip seal seated within the profiled socket groove, paired with a bevelled spigot end to facilitate rapid push-fit assembly and guarantee long-term joint tightness even in the presence of ground movement, thermal variations, or permissible pipe deflection. Engineered with flexible structural behaviour, the component transfers surrounding soil loads efficiently and accommodates reversible elastic deformations without compromising hydraulic integrity or structural continuity. The chemically inert PVC-U body delivers exceptional resistance against aggressive chemical substances, soil salts, and caustics across a broad pH range from 2 to 12, handling continuous wastewater temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius for sizes D110 to D200 mm and 40 degrees Celsius for sizes D250 to D500 mm, with temporary peak excursions permitted up to 60 degrees Celsius. The glass-smooth internal bore exhibits an extremely low surface roughness below 0.01 mm, suppressing sediment deposition, scaling, and flow turbulence to preserve optimal discharge velocity across deflection angles of 15, 30, 45, 67, and 87 degrees over an expected design life of at least 50 years.
