PVC-KG repair couplers SN4 KGU are engineered for non-pressure underground gravity sewage and rainwater drainage systems outside building footprints, providing an effective slip-through jointing solution for trench installations and pipeline rehabilitation. Unlike conventional double socket couplings equipped with an internal center stop ridge, the KGU sliding sleeve configuration is manufactured completely smooth on the inside, allowing the fitting to glide freely along the spigot ends of PVC-U piping. This mechanism enables maintenance crews and civil contractors to execute rapid section cut-ins, bridge fractured pipe sections, or insert new branch junctions into existing sewer runs without displacing or deflecting adjacent buried lines. Both socket collars incorporate factory-seated elastomeric EPDM lip seals housed within profiled retaining grooves, providing permanent hydrostatic tightness against ground water infiltration and sewage exfiltration while accommodating minor angular deflections and ground settlements. Manufactured from high-grade unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in standard orange (RAL 8023), this fitting delivers a nominal ring stiffness of SN4 (4 kN/m²), ensuring full structural compatibility with both SN4 and SN2 sewer networks buried at depths from 0.8 m up to 6.0 m under medium road traffic loading. The tough thermoplastic body offers exceptional resistance to biological digestion, caustics, ground salts, and industrial effluents across a wide pH range from 2 to 12, sustaining continuous wastewater conveyance with short-term temperature peaks up to 60 degrees Celsius. Engineered across nominal diameters from 110 mm to 500 mm with an ultra-smooth interior that prevents encrustation, the coupler ensures a maintenance-free operating lifespan exceeding 50 years across municipal, residential, and industrial drainage systems.
