The Georg Fischer Type 179 electrically actuated ball valve is engineered for automated on/off and modulating flow control in demanding industrial piping systems. Manufactured from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C), this valve delivers high mechanical rigidity and exceptional chemical resistance at elevated operating temperatures compared to standard PVC-U. Rated for a nominal pressure of PN10, it is specifically designed for aggressive chemical processing, industrial water treatment, electroplating, surface finishing lines, and semiconductor manufacturing.

The valve is powered by an integrated electric actuator operating on a 100–230V AC (50/60 Hz) power supply, offering robust IP68 ingress protection in harsh industrial environments. It features a factory-set 90 degrees operating angle, an integrated heating element to prevent internal condensation, optical and electronic position feedback (Open, Closed, and Middle), and a manual emergency override for secure operation during commissioning or power failure. Connection to the pipeline is made via metric solvent cement sockets conforming to ISO/DIN dimensional standards, with integrated stainless steel threaded mounting inserts facilitating rigid valve securing without transferring mechanical stresses to the pipe line.

Internally, the Type 179 ball valve incorporates low-friction PTFE ball seats and high-grade elastomeric backing seals available in EPDM or FKM to withstand aggressive acids, alkalis, and salt solutions. The modular assembly allows straightforward maintenance and actuator retrofitting without disassembling the pipeline.
