The Georg Fischer Metal Transition Fitting PPFR x SS SPG x SPG provides an engineered, USPH-compliant connection between flame retardant polypropylene corrosive waste piping and stainless steel drainage systems. Developed specifically for demanding laboratory, institutional, life sciences, food and beverage, and marine or shipbuilding DWV installations, the transition component bridges thermoplastic and metallic networks without compromising joint integrity or fluid containment. The fitting combines a flame-retardant polypropylene (PPFR) spigot end with a premium stainless steel (SS) spigot end, enabling direct integration with Fuseal electrofusion sockets or Fast-Lock mechanical joint fittings on the plastic side and standard metallic piping connections on the steel side. The polypropylene material delivers outstanding resistance against aggressive alkalis, mineral acids, solvents, alcohols, and salt solutions, eliminating risks of rust, pitting, scaling, and electrolytic attack in corrosive chemical environments. Capable of handling intermittent discharge temperatures up to 212 degrees F (100 degrees C) and continuous operating conditions up to 180 degrees F (82 degrees C), the assembly withstands the harsh thermal cycling typical of chemical drainage and process line sanitization. In pressurized or vacuum drainage configurations, it supports reliable operation up to 50 psi when fused with Fuseal electrofusion collars. The robust factory joint between the stainless steel tube and the polypropylene body ensures long-term leak-free performance under differential thermal expansion, making it a critical component for transitioning out of containment zones, through bulkheads, or into stainless steel collection headers.
