This Georg Fischer PVC-U and brass transition union provides a robust, demountable mechanical connection between metric thermoplastic solvent cement piping and metallic threaded equipment. Engineered for high-integrity industrial and commercial installations, this fitting combines an unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) socket end, a heavy-duty brass insert with parallel internal thread Rp conforming to ISO 7-1 and EN 10226-1, a precision-threaded PVC-U union nut, and an elastomeric EPDM sealing O-ring. Operating at a nominal pressure rating of 16 bar (PN16) at 20 degrees Celsius, it enables quick disconnection and reassembly of pumps, valves, instruments, and filtration skids without cutting pipework or compromising hydraulic integrity.

The hybrid construction delivers the chemical resistance and smooth internal surface of industrial-grade PVC-U while providing the mechanical strength of brass where connection to metallic valves, pumps, or manifolds is mandatory. The integrated EPDM gasket ensures exceptional long-term elasticity and leak-tight performance across fluid temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius continuous operating conditions, with a design service life reaching up to 50 years under standard parameters. For reliable installation, the solvent cement socket should be prepared using appropriate cleaner and solvent cement (such as Tangit PVC-U). When sealing the parallel Rp brass thread, use premium PTFE tape; liquid thread sealants or anaerobic pastes that can chemically degrade thermoplastic components must strictly be avoided. Hand-tightening the union nut followed by a quarter-turn with an appropriate strap wrench provides a dependable, stress-free seal.
