Georg Fischer malleable iron reducing elbow 90 degrees Fig. 90 is an engineered threaded piping component designed to execute a precise right-angle change of direction in fluid distribution systems while transitioning between two distinct nominal pipe diameters within a single, rigid fitting body. Manufactured in full compliance with EN 10242 and ISO 49 design symbol A1, the component is cast from whiteheart decarburised annealed malleable cast iron EN-GJMW-400-5, providing outstanding structural resistance, pressure containment, and stability under dynamic mechanical stresses. Both female connection ends are manufactured with precision-cut Rp parallel internal jointing threads in accordance with EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, forming a tight, permanently sealed joint along the thread flanks when mated with taper external R threads and verified sealing agents. By consolidating directional deflection and dimensional reduction into a single monolithic fitting, the geometry eliminates the necessity of assembling an equal elbow with a secondary reducing bush or socket, substantially saving installation envelope, decreasing joint count, reducing flow turbulence, and mitigating potential leakage points across the circuit. The fitting integrates standard z-dimension characteristics to allow fast, accurate prefabrication and straightforward pipework layout planning. Available in a black finish protected by a preservative rust-inhibiting coating or in a high-purity hot-dip galvanised execution featuring uniform iron-zinc alloy diffusion layers suitable for potable water conveyance, the fitting delivers superior resistance against corrosive media. It is engineered for industrial process lines, hydronic heating, cooling networks, gas distribution, compressed air systems, and fire protection pipelines operating under permissible working pressures up to 25 bar at temperatures between -20 degrees Celsius and 120 degrees Celsius, and up to 20 bar at elevated temperatures reaching 300 degrees Celsius.
