The Georg Fischer galvanised malleable iron union elbow with taper seat (ISO/EN UA11, Fig. 96) provides a robust 90-degree directional transition combined with an integrated separable coupling for rigid threaded iron and steel piping networks. Comprising a three-piece assembly configured with a 90-degree union bush (96 ET), a taper union end (381), and a heavy-duty union nut (374 with ISO 228-1 fastening thread), this fitting establishes a high-integrity, metal-to-metal seal across precision-machined conical seating surfaces. This metal taper seat architecture eliminates the need for elastomeric flat gaskets, ensuring dependable fluid containment under fluctuating temperature and pressure regimes while allowing repeated mechanical disconnection and reassembly for line maintenance, equipment isolation, or pipeline modification. Manufactured from premium decarburised whiteheart malleable cast iron conforming to EN-GJMW-400-5 (Design Symbol A), the fitting exhibits exceptional structural toughness, high mechanical strength, and superior resistance to cyclic stresses and pipe vibration. The exterior and interior surfaces are safeguarded by a hot-dip galvanised coating applied with high-purity zinc, forming multiple protective iron-zinc alloy layers beneath a pure zinc surface that deliver comprehensive corrosion protection in potable water systems, heating circuits, compressed air lines, and non-corrosive gas or oil distribution installations. Both jointing ends feature precision-machined Rp parallel internal pipe threads conforming to EN 10226-1 (ISO 7-1), providing positive metallic sealing engagement when paired with R external taper threads. Solid wrench flats on the union nut and body enable controlled tightening and reliable alignment within cramped service layouts.
