The Georg Fischer malleable iron elbow 90 degrees type 94 provides a robust, heavy-duty directional change with dual external threaded connections for industrial fluid processing, utility networks, commercial cooling, heating circuits, and technical gas distribution. Manufactured from high-grade whiteheart decarburised annealed malleable cast iron conforming to material grade EN-GJMW-400-5 (Design Symbol A), the fitting combines high mechanical tensile strength with superior ductile properties and impact resistance. Both connection outlets feature standardized external taper pipe threads (R) engineered in accordance with EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, employing a precise 1:16 taper ratio. This geometry creates metallic contact and continuous radial compression across the thread flanks when mated with parallel internal threads (Rp), achieving an absolute, leak-tight seal when accompanied by approved thread jointing compound or PTFE sealant. The fitting is finished with a premium hot-dip galvanised coating consisting of metallurgically bonded iron-zinc alloy layers topped by pure zinc, providing exceptional barrier and sacrificial corrosion resistance suitable for potable water installations, while remaining completely free from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Engineered to withstand demanding operational conditions, the elbow operates safely from -20 degrees Celsius up to 120 degrees Celsius at a maximum permissible working pressure of 25 bar, retaining an operating threshold of 20 bar at elevated temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius. With balanced center-to-face dimensions across the entire size spectrum from 3/8 inch to 2 inches, it facilitates exact prefabrication, reliable alignment, and seamless integration into rigid steel pipework assemblies.
