The Georg Fischer long sweep bend 90 degrees ISO/EN G1 is a heavy-duty malleable cast iron threaded fitting designed for smooth directional transitions in industrial, civil, and mechanical piping systems. Manufactured from high-grade decarburised annealed whiteheart malleable cast iron (EN-GJMW-400-5 conforming to EN 1562, Design Symbol A), the fitting delivers exceptional tensile strength, structural ductility, and high resistance against mechanical stress, vibrations, and pressure surges. Protection against atmospheric oxidation and aggressive media is provided by a premium hot-dip galvanised finish exceeding EN 10242 requirements, forming durable zinc-iron alloy layers topped with high-purity zinc that comply with the strict hygiene standards of DIN 50930-6 and EN 12502-3 for potable water distribution. Engineered with an elongated radius relative to conventional elbows, the long sweep profile promotes optimal hydraulic performance by significantly curbing turbulence, fluid friction, and localised head loss during 90-degree flow redirection. Both ends feature precision-machined parallel internal pipe threads (Rp) according to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, allowing dependable, pressure-tight sealing when engaged with taper external pipe threads and approved thread sealing materials such as hemp, sealing compounds, or unsintered PTFE tape. Standardised across nominal dimensions from 1/4 inch to 4 inches, this fitting conforms to EN 10242 and ISO 49 specifications, operating reliably up to 25 bar from -20 degrees Celsius to 120 degrees Celsius and up to 20 bar at temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius. The component integrates seamlessly into commercial heating, cooling, compressed air, combustible gas, fire protection, and industrial utility pipework, fully adhering to standardized z-dimensions for precise layout calculation, prefabrication, and fast on-site assembly.
