Georg Fischer galvanised socket type 270 provides an engineered, straight female-to-female threaded coupling designed for the direct axial joining of identical-diameter male threaded pipes and fittings in industrial, commercial, and utility piping networks. Manufactured from high-grade decarburised annealed whiteheart malleable cast iron grade EN-GJMW-400-5 in accordance with Design Symbol A, the socket incorporates precision-machined Rp parallel internal threads conforming to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1. This thread profile couples with external R taper threads to establish a metallic compression seal along the thread flanks, which, when paired with an approved sealant, provides complete pressure tightness against vibrations, thermal cycles, and mechanical pipe stresses. The hot-dip galvanised coating provides high-purity zinc layers that deeply alloy with the cast iron substrate, delivering exceptional corrosion protection and surface passivation across potable water supplies, hydronic heating systems, cooling lines, compressed air distribution, industrial gas manifolds, and fire sprinkler pipework. Mechanically engineered to withstand severe industrial operational demands, the fitting provides a pressure capability of up to 25 bar for media temperatures between -20 degrees Celsius and 120 degrees Celsius, continuing down to 20 bar at elevated temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius. The heavy-duty beaded rim around each socket end reinforces structural rigidity against tangential hoop stresses, ensuring that high installation tightening torque does not cause radial cracking or oval deformation. Uniform thread depth, accurate axial concentricity, and defined laying dimensions ensure straightforward integration into rigid installations and streamlined pipeline prefabrication.
