Galvanised malleable iron regulation socket

Galvanised malleable iron regulation socket

Material: Malleable Iron

  Datasheet (PDF)

The Georg Fischer galvanised malleable cast iron regulation socket 599a is an engineered throttling and balancing fitting engineered for precise hydronic and flow distribution control in industrial piping, heating networks, cooling installations, and potable water services. Manufactured from premium whiteheart malleable cast iron grade EN-GJMW-400-5, the robust cast housing undergoes a high-temperature decarburisation annealing process and is finished with a heavy-duty hot-dip galvanising layer of high-purity zinc, ensuring long-term resistance against internal scaling, surface oxidation, and mechanical corrosion. Operating as an in-line balancing regulator, the fitting integrates an internal brass regulation mechanism consisting of a precision-machined brass throttle insert and regulating spindle, an anti-twist backnut locking device, and a protective brass sealing cap. Fine adjustment of the internal flow cross-section is achieved via the top drive socket using standard spanners or square service keys, allowing engineers to calibrate distribution circuits accurately, while the integrated locking backnut prevents unwanted displacement or drift caused by fluid pulsations and line vibrations. Factory-equipped with a dedicated flat sealing gasket between the cast neck and brass bonnet assembly, the unit maintains bubble-tight external sealing during continuous operation. The inline run connections are engineered with standardised Rp parallel internal threads compliant with EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, which ensure complete geometric thread engagement and reliable joint integrity when paired with taper external pipe threads. The bonnet regulation chamber utilises G parallel fastening threads according to EN ISO 228-1 to clamp the sealing gasket firmly against the machined seating face. Engineered to handle fluid temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius up to 120 degrees Celsius at nominal operating pressures up to 25 bar, this regulation fitting delivers repeatable hydraulic balancing, structural reliability, and galvanic protection across demanding commercial and industrial distribution pipelines.
