The Blucast flanged tapping saddle is engineered for making flanged off-takes and branch connections on high-density polyethylene (PEHD) and PVC-U pressure pipelines. Designed for utility water distribution, industrial piping networks, and irrigation systems, this ductile iron saddle delivers a rigid, fully leak-tight interface without compromising the structural integrity of thermoplastic parent pipes. The flanged branch provides a standard EN 1092-2 (PN10/PN16) connection point for mounting isolating gate valves, air release valves, or secondary distribution lines.

Constructed from robust EN-GJS-500-7 ductile iron, the saddle body is protected internally and externally with a fusion-bonded powder epoxy coating applied to a minimum thickness of 250 μm in RAL 5015 sky blue. This protective barrier offers exceptional resistance against soil corrosion, galvanic currents, and chemical aggression in buried installations. Sealing against the pipe circumference is achieved via an integrated EPDM profile gasket vulcanised in accordance with EN 681-1, ensuring long-term elasticity and hermetic sealing across temperature ranges from 0 to 80 degrees Celsius.

Mechanical fastening is performed using high-tensile stainless steel bolts (AISI 304), providing uniform clamping pressure across the saddle half-shells while preventing thread galling and environmental degradation. Rated for a maximum continuous operating pressure of PN16 (16 bar), this flanged saddle is fully certified for drinking water supply schemes, raw water conveyance, and non-corrosive industrial process fluids.
