The BLUCAST NVD series ductile iron double air valve is an engineered kinetic and automatic venting solution designed for drinking water pipelines and neutral liquid transport systems operating up to 80 degrees C. Trapped air in pressurized supply systems causes significant flow restrictions, surge pressure amplification, head loss, and localized corrosion. The BLUCAST NVD air valve provides complete pipeline hydraulic protection by combining three vital venting functions in a single compact ductile iron body: high-volume air evacuation during pipe filling, continuous automatic release of accumulated air bubbles under working pressure, and high-volume vacuum breaking during pipe draining or line rupture.

Manufactured from high-grade ductile cast iron (EN-GJS-500-7) for both the main body and bonnet, the NVD double air valve delivers exceptional mechanical robustness against line pressure spikes and water hammer phenomena. The unit is protected inside and out with an electrostatically applied powder epoxy coating with a minimum thickness of 250 microns in sky blue RAL 5015, meeting stringent hygienic standards for potable water distribution. Flanged connections conform to EN 1092-2 PN10/PN16 standards, allowing seamless integration into utility distribution grids, industrial processing plants, pump discharge manifolds, and long-distance transmission mains.

The aerodynamic internal chamber design features precision-engineered floats that prevent premature aerodynamic shut-off during rapid, high-velocity air exhaust cycles. When negative pressure conditions occur during rapid draining or upstream pump shutdown, the internal floats immediately drop to admit atmospheric air at high flow rates, preventing dangerous vacuum collapse in thin-walled pipes.
