The Georg Fischer SYGEF Standard PVDF Ball Valve Type 546 Pro with PPA DA is an automated, double-acting quarter-turn flow control valve engineered for aggressive chemical processing, semiconductor fabrication, and pharmaceutical fluid handling across metric dimensions d16 to d63 mm (DN10 to DN50). Manufactured from unpigmented polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), the valve body delivers exceptional resistance against concentrated acids, halogens, and high-purity deionised water across a wide operating temperature envelope from -20 degrees to +140 degrees C at an operating pressure rating of PN10. Actuation is driven by a pneumatic actuator PPA double-acting (DA) mechanism enclosed in glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF), providing an all-plastic exterior resilient against corrosive ambient atmospheres. Operating with a standard pneumatic control pressure of 5.6 bar through an integrated NAMUR interface compliant with VDI/VDE 3845, the actuator executes a complete 90 degrees stroke within 1 to 2 seconds for precise isolation. The internal assembly incorporates smooth PTFE ball seats paired with high-performance FKM elastomeric seals, ensuring bi-directional leak-tight sealing, low actuation torque, and consistent flow characteristics. Metric socket fusion spigots and sockets facilitate dependable, homogeneous jointing with SYGEF piping networks. Integrated stainless steel mounting inserts embedded in the valve base allow direct, secure fastening to structural supports, preventing mechanical stresses from transferring into the pipeline. An integrated visual position indicator gives immediate optical feedback of the valve position. Fully backwards-compatible, this unit retains the exact face-to-face z-dimension, union nuts, and valve ends of the classic Type 546 and Type 230–235 series.
