The PVC-U single union ball valve from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) provides manual shut-off and precise flow isolation in industrial piping, agricultural irrigation networks, commercial swimming pools and water treatment installations. The integrated union nut lets the valve be disconnected and serviced without dismantling the adjacent pipework. One port is a parallel female thread socket Rp, the opposite end a taper male thread R, both to ISO 7-1 and EN 10226-1 for leak-tight threaded jointing; sizes run from 1/2" to 2".

The body is moulded in unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in standard grey RAL 7011, delivering high resistance to acids, alkalis, salts and non-oxidising chemicals. Internal sealing uses EPDM O-rings with pure PTFE ball seats, giving low operating torque, consistent bidirectional tightness and high wear endurance over long duty cycles. The chemical neutrality of the compound and the certified elastomers suits potable water conveyance, process water handling and nutrient dosing lines.

The valve is rated PN16 (16 bar) at 20 degrees Celsius and operates with pressurised industrial media between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius, with the standard de-rating factors applied at elevated working temperatures. The ergonomic lever handle gives a smooth 90-degree quarter-turn action with clear open and closed status indication.

The hybrid Rp female and R male arrangement couples directly to pumps, manifolds, tank outlets and filtration vessels, removing the need for extra transition nipples, while the union collar allows the valve mechanism or the downstream assembly to be removed for cleaning and inspection.
