This PVC-U threaded air release and foot valve is engineered for industrial fluid handling, water treatment facilities, and agricultural irrigation networks. Manufactured from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U, RAL 7011), the assembly serves a dual operational purpose depending on installation location. At pipeline high points, it functions as an air release valve that vents air pockets during charging and admits atmospheric air during draining to prevent vacuum collapse. At pump suction lines, it acts as a foot valve and check valve to retain liquid prime and stop reverse flow.

The component is rated for a nominal working pressure of PN16 (16 bar) at a reference fluid temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. Internal shut-off relies on resilient EPDM elastomeric seals, ensuring bubble-tight isolation even under low differential pressures. Parallel female threaded sockets conform to EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1 (Rp standard), covering sizes from 3/8 inch to 3 inches. The PVC-U compound provides superior chemical resistance against inorganic acids, alkalis, and saline solutions, preventing galvanic corrosion and encrustation.

Vertical orientation is required for reliable operation driven by gravity and hydraulic displacement of the sealing element. On pump intake lines, keeping the suction pipe flooded prevents dry running and reduces mechanical stresses from cavitation. The parallel Rp female threads permit direct mechanical connection to male threaded fittings, enabling straightforward system disassembly for routine cleaning without requiring pipe cutting.
