PVC-A PN20 Pressure Pipe 50-315 mm
The PVC-A PN20 pressure pipe from LaReTer is a polymeric alloy pipe for high-pressure fluid conveyance, potable water transport mains, irrigation networks and pressurized industrial circuits. Unplasticized PVC modified with chlorinated polyethylene combines the tensile strength and ring rigidity of PVC-U with the ductility of polyethylene, eliminating the ductile-to-brittle transition risk and arresting rapid crack propagation under concentrated point loads, scratching or impact. Pipes are supplied in 6 m lengths, blue RAL 5015, each ending in an integrally thermoformed socket.
The socket carries a Forsheda Power-Lock seal pre-inserted at the factory: an EPDM elastomer body to EN 681-1, stiffened by a co-moulded yellow polypropylene ring with no metal inserts. Locked into the socket throat during the forming cycle, the gasket cannot displace, fishmouth or be lost in transport and assembly, insertion force stays low, and tightness is held under internal pressure and under vacuum down to minus 0.5 bar. The joint accepts up to 3 degrees of angular deflection, absorbing ground movement without loss of seal.
Rated PN 20 at 20 degrees Celsius, the pipe reaches a ring stiffness of SN 40 kN/m², suited to deep trenching and high earth loads. Maximum continuous service temperature is 60 degrees Celsius with pressure derating to DIN 8061-62 — 10 bar at 40 degrees Celsius and 3 bar at 60 degrees Celsius. Wall roughness of k = 0.003 mm and a bore larger than PE of equal outside diameter and PN class cut head loss and pumping energy, while the alloy is some 25% lighter than PE of the same class. Wall thickness runs from 3.9 mm at OD 50 mm to 17.1 mm at OD 315 mm, socket depth from 110 to 230 mm, with a service life beyond 50 years.
