PVC-A PN16 Pressure Pipe 50-400 mm
LaReTer PVC-A PN16 pressure pipe is a polymer alloy system produced by modifying unplasticized PVC with chlorinated polyethylene. The alloy combines the rigidity and tensile strength of PVC-U with the ductility, impact tolerance and crack-arrest behavior of polyethylene, removing the ductile-to-brittle transition typical of rigid PVC. Rated PN16 at 20 degrees Celsius with a ring stiffness of SN 20 kN/m2, it serves potable water transport and distribution mains, irrigation networks, pressurized industrial fluid lines and pressurized sewage systems.
The alloy allows thinner walls than PE100 or PVC-U at the same pressure class, so the bore is larger for a given outside diameter. With an absolute hydraulic roughness k = 0.003 mm, head losses and pumping energy demand stay low across a service life of 50 to 80 years. The pipe is approximately 25% lighter than polyethylene of identical PN class, which simplifies handling, transport and trench work, and it accepts generous manual cold bending on site.
Joints use the integrated Forsheda Power-Lock socket gasket, heat pre-inserted and co-molded into the socket throat during thermoforming so that it becomes a single element with the pipe. The seal pairs an EPDM elastomer body (to EN 681-1) with a yellow polypropylene stiffening ring containing no metal inserts, so it cannot roll over or be displaced during spigot insertion. The joint allows angular deflection up to 3 degrees and is vacuum tight down to -0.5 bar.
Certified for contact with water intended for human consumption under DM 174/2004 and tested to KIWA KIP-105133 and UNI EN 1452, the material shows a yield load of 40 MPa or more, a VICAT softening point of 80 degrees Celsius or above and ductile failure under concentrated point loads. Maximum working temperature is 60 degrees Celsius, the admissible pressure reducing to 8 bar at 40 degrees Celsius and 3 bar at 60 degrees Celsius. Supplied in 6 m lengths including the socket, blue RAL 5015, outside diameters from 50 mm to 400 mm.
