The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard Type 369 wafer check valve is an industrial non-return valve moulded in beta-polypropylene homopolymer (beta-PP-H) for backflow prevention in chemical and process pipelines. It is built for installation between backing flanges and covers outer diameters d40 to d315 mm, equivalent to nominal sizes DN32 through DN300. Nominal pressure is PN10 for DN32 to DN125 and PN6 for DN150 to DN300 at ambient operating temperature, with a calculated service life of twenty-five years under nominal conditions. The wafer body keeps the face-to-face length short compared with true double union or flanged check valves, so the unit fits into existing spool pieces without major rework. Integrated centering eyelets on the body locate the valve on the flange bolt circle during assembly and remove alignment errors when it is clamped between the backing flanges. The flap works without a spring: it is opened by the flow of the process medium and closed by hydrostatic back-pressure, which keeps pressure loss across the open seat low and gives a fast response on flow reversal.

Sealing is handled by a profiled elastomeric seat in EPDM or FKM, selected to match the medium — inorganic acids, alkaline solutions, industrial salt solutions and deionised water are all within range. The valve can be mounted in horizontal runs and in vertical runs; vertical installation with upward flow is the preferred arrangement, since gravity assists the return of the flap onto the seat. Beta-PP-H combines high impact strength, thermal endurance and chemical inertness, which suits the Type 369 to wastewater treatment plants, chemical distribution systems, pickling lines and cooling water circuits.
