Ball Valve PROGEF Standard Type 546 Pro PP-H DN15-DN100 PN10

The PROGEF Standard Ball Valve type 546 Pro is a manually operated thermoplastic shut-off valve produced by Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) in isotactic polypropylene homopolymeride (beta-PP-H) and supplied across Europe by BigWeld as an authorised Georg Fischer distributor. The range covers DN15 to DN100 (d16 to d110 mm) with metric socket fusion connections, is rated PN10 bar on SDR 11 and is built for process water, wastewater, effluent treatment and aggressive chemical media. The beta-PP-H compound delivers long-term hydrostatic strength and broad chemical resistance, supporting a calculated 25-year service life in water at 20 degrees C.

Construction follows the true double union principle with buttress threads, so the valve body can be released radially for servicing without cutting or displacing the adjacent piping run. The stem carries an engineered predetermined breaking point: if excessive actuation torque is applied, the stem yields while the lower seal remains intact, preventing external leakage. Low-friction PTFE ball seats, backed by elastomeric cushions in EPDM, FKM or NBR, keep the sealing force self-adjusting and the operating torque uniform over long duty cycles. The full-bore ball holds pressure drop low, while the smooth thermoplastic bore limits deposit build-up.
