The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard Type 515 diaphragm valve is an engineered thermoplastic process valve manufactured from isotactic polypropylene homopolymer (beta-PP-H). Designed for chemical processing, water treatment, and industrial effluent systems, this valve features metric socket fusion spigots for reliable integration into SDR 11 PN10 industrial piping networks. Operating at a nominal pressure rating of 10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius, Type 515 combines chemical resistance against corrosive media with mechanical endurance, supporting a design operational service life of up to 25 years.

A central technical advancement of the PROGEF Type 515 is its optimized internal geometry. Fully compliant with EN ISO 16138 and conforming to EN 558 face-to-face dimensions, the body contour doubles the flow coefficient compared to previous diaphragm valve designs. This reduction in hydraulic resistance minimizes system pressure drops and energy consumption in process loops. External corrosion protection is enhanced by replacing traditional metallic bonnet fasteners with a robust glass fibre reinforced polypropylene (PPGF) bonnet secured by a central union nut. Eliminating exposed metal bolts prevents external corrosion caused by aggressive chemical atmospheres or moisture.

Manual flow regulation is managed via an ergonomic handwheel equipped with an integrated locking mechanism to secure the setting against accidental movement. A high-contrast two-colour optical position indicator provides continuous feedback on valve status. Sealing compatibility includes EPDM, FKM, NBR, and PTFE diaphragms with an elastomeric support, accommodating inorganic acids, alkalis, and neutral media across diameters from d20 mm to d63 mm (DN15 to DN50).
