The PROGEF Standard Type 515 diaphragm valve manufactured by Georg Fischer is an engineered manual flow-control solution designed for demanding chemical processing, industrial effluent management, and industrial water treatment installations. Constructed from high-grade beta polypropylene homopolymer (beta-PP-H), this valve provides superior chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, and aggressive process fluids across an operating temperature spectrum extending from 0 to 80 degrees Celsius. Rated for a nominal operating pressure of PN10 (10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius), the assembly complies fully with EN ISO 16138 design criteria and offers face-to-face dimensions meeting EN 558 standards, enabling seamless integration or replacement within standardized European industrial piping layouts.

Configured with extended metric SDR11 butt fusion spigots spanning nominal diameters from d20 up to d63 mm (DN15 to DN50), Type 515 is optimized for high-integrity thermal jointing via conventional butt fusion and contactless infrared (IR) welding machines. The hydrodynamic β-PP-H valve body minimizes pressure loss and turbulence across the weir, delivering maximized flow rates and preventing sediment accumulation. A corrosion-resistant glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PPGF) bonnet connects directly to the valve body via a robust central plastic union nut, entirely eliminating metallic bolts, washers, and external corrosion risks in aggressive atmospheres.

Actuation is managed through a heavy-duty ergonomic handwheel featuring an integrated locking mechanism that prevents unintended position drift under high-vibration conditions. An integrated two-color optical position indicator provides unambiguous visual verification of the open or closed state from distance. Engineered for interchangeability, the valve supports a complete selection of elastomeric and fluoropolymer diaphragms, including EPDM, FKM, NBR, and PTFE with an EPDM backing diaphragm, ensuring tailored permeation resistance and extended cycle longevity under severe chemical exposure.
