The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard union in SDR 17.6 PN6 is an industrial-grade thermoplastic fitting designed for reliable, dismountable mechanical connections in chemical processing, industrial utilities, and water treatment piping systems. Manufactured from high-grade beta-PP-H (isotactic polypropylene homopolymer), this fitting provides superior hydrostatic strength, exceptional chemical resistance against acids, alkalis, and inorganic solvents, and high thermal stability. Engineered specifically for metric outer diameters from d75 mm to d110 mm, this three-piece union enables quick installation, system sectional testing, and effortless disassembly for equipment maintenance or valve servicing without cut-ins.

Equipped with butt fusion spigot ends, the union is fully compatible with conventional heated tool butt welding according to DVS 2207 as well as contactless infrared (IR) fusion jointing technologies. IR fusion delivers highly repeatable joining with narrow weld beads and uniform stress distribution, essential in aggressive chemical conveying. The jointing profile incorporates a precision O-ring groove accommodating EPDM or FKM elastomeric gaskets certified to EN 681, guaranteeing hermetic sealing under nominal working pressures up to 6 bar at 20 degrees Celsius. The robust threaded union nut ensures uniform mechanical compression across the sealing face while tolerating operating vibrations.
