Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard type 562 check valves are spring-loaded, true double union non-return valves produced from high-grade beta polypropylene homopolymer (beta-PP-H). Manufactured in compliance with EN ISO 16137, the valve is rated PN10 (10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius) over the complete metric socket fusion range from d16 to d110 mm (SDR 9), and is intended for aggressive chemical media and industrial water treatment lines where dependable backflow prevention is required. The valve is built around a double-guided, flow-optimized cone that suppresses fluttering and the turbulence-induced wear that follows it. A 1.4310 stainless steel (V2A) return spring moves the closing body with high precision, so operation stays completely vibration-free even at elevated flow velocities. The spring also makes the valve position-independent: it can be installed in vertical or horizontal pipe runs without relying on hydrostatic head or liquid back-pressure, and it closes immediately. At rest, the spring load on the seal delivers 100 percent leak tightness against media backflow.

Maintenance is handled in line thanks to the true double union body, whose left-hand threaded union bushes prevent inadvertent loosening while the pipework is being dismantled. The beta-PP-H body offers excellent chemical resistance to inorganic salts, aqueous acids, alkalis and industrial wastewater, with a designed service life of 25 years with water at 20 degrees Celsius. Seals are available in EPDM or FKM to suit the media, and the metric socket fusion ends form homogeneous, permanent joints with PROGEF Standard pipes and fittings.
