The Georg Fischer Fuseal LD PP coupling S x S is an engineered large-diameter socket-fusion fitting designed for joining non-pressure and pressure-rated polypropylene piping in corrosive chemical waste, laboratory DWV, and industrial drainage systems. Available for pipe diameters spanning 8 inch through 14 inch, this straight connection fitting utilizes Fuseal LD loose-coil electrofusion technology to produce permanent, hermetically sealed joints by applying electrical heat resistance to melt the thermoplastic interface into a single homogeneous structure. Manufactured from chemically inert polypropylene in flame-retardant (FR) and non-flame-retardant (NFR) configurations, the fitting provides complete structural resilience against aqueous solutions of acid salts, dilute mineral acids, alkalis, alcohols, and aggressive chemical solvent mixtures, completely eliminating the pitting, rust, scaling, and electrolytic corrosion typical of metallic alternatives. The internal design features a precise central pipe stop dimension of 0.25 inch to guarantee consistent insertion depth and smooth hydraulic alignment across large-diameter conduits. Engineered for demanding industrial process environments, hospital laboratories, life science facilities, and marine installations, the coupling sustains continuous operating media temperatures up to 180 degrees F (82 degrees C) and intermittent hot discharges reaching up to 212 degrees F (100 degrees C). With a pressure rating certified up to 50 psi for pressurized DWV pipelines, the coupling reliably accommodates gravity flow as well as intermittent pumped drainage and vacuum fluid transport.
