The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 4.0 PE/PE union is an engineered, factory-insulated demountable piping joint designed for secondary cooling and refrigeration distribution networks operating at nominal pressures up to 16 bar. Constructed from high-density polyethylene PE100 SDR11, both the union bush and union end feature metric spigots with bare ends engineered for seamless jointing using electrofusion couplers or butt fusion methods. The jointing mechanism is secured by a robust threaded union nut manufactured from glass-fibre reinforced polyethylene (PEGF25), compressing an elastomer EPDM O-ring gasket (part number 748 410 008-014) to maintain an impenetrable, leak-tight seal against pressure fluctuations and system vibration. Engineered to provide a serviceable disconnect point within closed-loop chilled water, brine, and glycol circuits, the assembly allows rapid dismantling, system inspection, and equipment maintenance without pipe cutting. Thermal efficiency and vapor barrier integrity are preserved across the fitting through the included custom-fit insulation half shells made from high-efficiency, halogen-free closed-cell foam, effectively eliminating atmospheric condensation, energy transfer, and ice build-up. Rated for continuous fluid operating temperatures from -50 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius, the union prevents galvanic corrosion and scaling while maintaining full hydraulic flow across dimensions d32 mm through d63 mm (DN25 to DN50). By integrating non-corrosive thermoplastic construction with precision elastomer sealing and prefabricated insulation shells, this fitting guarantees reliable, maintenance-free performance across commercial refrigeration, food processing, cold storage, and industrial climate control installations.
