The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0/4.0 PE/stainless steel adaptor union is a precision-engineered transition fitting designed for demountable connections between pre-insulated polyethylene piping networks and threaded metal equipment in commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and industrial cooling circuits. Engineered for seamless mechanical integration within secondary cooling loops operating at a nominal pressure of 16 bar (PN16, SDR11), this hybrid component bridges thermoplastic PE100 piping systems with metallic threaded valves, instruments, or plant apparatus. The union assembly comprises a PE100 SDR11 metric spigot union bush with a smooth free end suitable for electrofusion jointing, a precision-machined union end manufactured from high-grade stainless steel 1.4404 (316L) with an internal female thread Rp, and a robust union nut made of glass-fibre reinforced polyethylene (PEGF25). Critical internal fluid containment is maintained via a heavy-duty elastomeric EPDM O-ring gasket (No. 748 410 008-011), ensuring reliable, vapor-tight sealing against chilled water and aqueous glycol mixtures across an operating temperature range from 0 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius. By pairing the encrustation-free hydraulic performance of PE100 with the corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel, the assembly prevents localized degradation at equipment transition points.
