The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 short reducer is an engineered PE100 SDR11 spigot fitting designed for compact diameter transitions and space-optimized branching within pre-insulated secondary cooling and chilled water distribution networks. Manufactured from robust virgin PE100 polyethylene, this metric fitting provides a direct, low-profile reduction between nominal dimensions from d40 mm to d110 mm, enabling tight spatial integration inside confined service ducts, ceiling voids, plant rooms, and industrial process headers. Rated for an operating pressure of up to 16 bar (PN16) with chilled media temperatures ranging from 0 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius, the reducer maintains uninterrupted structural integrity across commercial HVAC, data center cooling, pharmaceutical production, and food processing systems. Both spigot ends are precisely machined with smooth spigot geometries that integrate seamlessly into COOL-FIT 2.0 electrofusion couplers, short reduced tees, and Type A electrofusion fittings using standard electrofusion welding units and adhesive sealing rings to deliver completely vapor-tight, moisture-proof joint containment. The corrosion-proof and incrustation-free internal bore preserves optimal hydraulic efficiency, eliminating turbulence and parasitic pump load while preventing biofilm accumulation or sediment buildup across decades of continuous service. When incorporated into the COOL-FIT pre-insulated closed-loop infrastructure, the fitting eliminates thermal bridge risks, stops external condensation formation on cooling circuits, and supports maintenance-free plant operation across an operational design lifespan exceeding 25 years.
