The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0/4.0 PE/brass adaptor fitting provides a heavy-duty transition interface between pre-insulated polyethylene piping networks and threaded metallic plant equipment, instrumentation, or terminal units. Engineered specifically for chilled water circuits, industrial air conditioning, and process cooling loops, the fitting integrates a metric PE100 SDR11 spigot end with a precision-machined CuZn40Pb2 brass male threaded insert. Jointing to the distribution network is carried out via electrofusion using standard COOL-FIT couplers or fittings, providing a homogeneous, fully restrained connection on the polyethylene spigot. Fluid sealing between the PE100 spigot and the brass threaded end is reliably maintained by an internal EPDM O-ring seal, preventing medium migration and pressure drops under continuous thermal cycling. Built to withstand a nominal working pressure of 16 bar (PN16) across operating medium temperatures from 0 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius, this transition fitting guarantees long-term mechanical reliability in secondary refrigeration and chilled-water circuits. The external male pipe thread R allows direct, rigid interfacing with metallic shut-off valves, strainers, pump manifolds, fan coils, or air handling units while protecting the plastic system from corrosion-related failures. Available across pipe dimensions from d32 mm to d63 mm with male thread profiles from R 1/2 inch to R 2 inches, the fitting delivers durable mechanical alignment and seamless compatibility across both COOL-FIT 2.0 and COOL-FIT 4.0 installations.
