COOL-FIT 2.0 Weld-in port PE spigot

COOL-FIT 2.0 Weld-in port PE spigot

Material: PE100 PN: 16 Bar

  Datasheet (PDF)

The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 Weld-in port PE spigot SDR11 is an engineered pre-insulated branching solution designed to integrate secondary branches directly into existing or newly planned chilled-water and industrial refrigeration circuits. Fabricated from premium high-density polyethylene PE100, the fitting features a dedicated weld-in port cone alongside a standard metric SDR11 spigot branch, enabling streamlined transitions to COOL-FIT 2.0 Type A electrofusion fittings or conventional polyethylene components. Specifically engineered for integration onto COOL-FIT 2.0, COOL-FIT 2.0F, COOL-FIT 4.0, and COOL-FIT 4.0F pre-insulated piping networks, this weld-in saddle component eliminates the necessity of cutting through complete main pipe sections to insert bulky reducing tees. Operating at a nominal pressure rating of 16 bar (PN16), it accommodates medium temperatures ranging between 0 degrees and +60 degrees Celsius without risking structural compromise, inner incrustation, or galvanic deterioration. The assembly includes factory-tailored EPDM closed-cell foam insulation that snugly encases the branching section, creating a vapor-tight barrier that stops moisture ingress and entirely prevents exterior condensation from developing on chilled lines. By allowing direct side-entry tap-ins across varying run diameters, the fitting provides extraordinary layout flexibility for routing coolant to air handlers, fan coil units, process cooling equipment, or supplementary sensor ports. Its robust thermoplastic PE100 construction ensures superior resistance to mechanical impacts, thermal cycling, and harsh operating environments, maintaining an entirely corrosion-free flow profile over an operational service life exceeding 25 years. This technical branching port combines maximum hydraulic integrity, high thermal energy efficiency, and simplified installation protocols, making it an indispensable component for optimizing HVAC building automation, food and beverage processing, data center cooling loops, and specialized industrial process fluid distribution.
