The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 PE/PE union provides a robust, fully demountable mechanical connection engineered specifically for secondary cooling and chilled-water distribution systems. Constructed with a PE100 SDR11 spigot union bush with free end and a matching PE100 SDR11 spigot union end, this fitting allows straightforward electrofusion jointing into metric pre-insulated piping loops using standard electrofusion couplers. Tightness is established via a heavy-duty union nut manufactured from glass-fiber reinforced polyethylene (PEGF25), which compresses a precision-engineered elastomeric EPDM O-ring gasket (part number series 748 410 008–014) to maintain an absolute, leak-tight seal against pressure fluctuations and vibration. Rated for a nominal operating pressure of 16 bar (PN16) across dimensions spanning d32 mm (DN25) to d63 mm (DN50), the assembly includes dedicated half-shell insulation made from closed-cell NBR foam. This factory-engineered insulation envelopes the union body entirely to guarantee continuous thermal performance, preventing surface condensation, moisture ingress, and thermal energy loss in demanding refrigeration circuits. Designed to convey chilled water, brine, and water-glycol mixtures across a medium temperature envelope of 0 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius, the union is fully optimized for air conditioning, commercial refrigeration, industrial process cooling, and building service environments. The non-corroding thermoplastic build prevents scale deposition, internal incrustation, and galvanic degradation, securing an operational service lifespan of at least 25 years while allowing swift, non-destructive mechanical disconnection whenever equipment inspection, system modification, or regular servicing is required.
